Hip arthroscopy is a newer field in orthopedics. We think of the hip as a ball and socket joint, where the femur is the "ball" and the acetabulum as the "socket". The labrum is a cartilage ring that goes around the socket. Hip pain can arise from excess bone on the ball or the socket, or can be from tears in the labrum or cartilage. Based on xrays, CT scans, and MRIs Dr. Elguizaoui will be able to determine what treatment you would benefit most from.
